Tomato Fest 2009
Five Points, 16 x 12, Mixed Media
The artwork above is my entry for the festival. I was inspired by the community in East Nashville and I wanted to capture the importance of the Five Points area and it's businesses.
The piece was created with paper and paint on a 16 x 12 gallery wrapped canvas. The red dots represent the crowds at the festival, with an especially heavy crowd located at the Art and Invention Gallery. Check out Meg, gallery owner, at her command post -- she has her own special dot!
If you are familar with the area you can also see Bongo Java, Three Crow Bar, Margo's, and many more! Out in the distance is even the Nashville skyline! The proportions are 100% accurate because I created the intial image from a 3D satelite imaging software.
Peace & Joy!
