Happy Easter!!

When I was a little girl, my Grandmother made me new a Easter dress every year for Church service.  She'd take me on a special trip to the fabric store and I'd pick out the dress pattern and material all on my own.

Then on Easter morning, before our family went to Church, I'd get my picture taken in front of the Azalea bush and it's bright pink flowers framed my new dress in the background.

That is my favorite memory of Easter.  It represents love and kindness and was exactly what Jesus wanted for all of us.  For many Easter means bunny rabbits, hunting for eggs, candy and presents, but that isn't what it is about.

For me it's about showing kindness and living a life that is full of joy representing what the Christian religion is all about.  It is a reminder of what Jesus died for, and how we should live our lives.  I love Easter and I love Christ and my life now that God is in the center of it; following Christ was the best decision I ever made.

Since Easter is one of my all time favorite holidays I made a little Easter basket of goodies for you to enjoy from Etsy.com.  Happy Easter and have a very blessed day!

A Spanish Inspired Evening with Carmen & More!

Last night I previewed the Nashville Opera's production of Carmen and it pretty much convinced me that I should join a group of smugglers and become an opera singing gypsy. Seriously the opera was incredible!  The set, costumes, lighting, singing and acting took my breath away!

So needless to say I'm thrilled to partner with the Nashville Opera to do what I to do best, paint!  I will be painting live in the TPAC Lobby on Thursday, April 14th and Saturday, April 16th from 5:30 - 9:00 with local live painter, Laura Amstutz.

I will be painting a 24x30 mixed media Carmen inspired piece each night and they will both be available to purchase by silent auction.  Twenty percent of the proceeds will be donated to the opera, so it's going to be a great night for everyone!

If you're not able to attend the show, you can still watch us painting live online the Nashville Opera's Fanpage at www.facebook.com/nashvilleopera. Click on their Livestream tab and you can watch the show from home!

I hope to see you at the show, but until then please enjoy these Carmen inspired products from Etsy.com!
